The Fleet Renewal Program is closing for new applications

The decision is driven by the limited remaining opportunities for new projects to be ready for operation by the end of 2027. Additionally, the NOx Fund has encountered several withdrawn applications, and some projects change from when the grant is given towards realization.

Good projects involving the replacement of existing vessels with newly acquired zero- and low-emission ships (Tier III), where these replacements result in a substantial reduction in emissions, will still be eligible for support through the regular support scheme. This entails support based on the calculated NOx reduction rate with a support rate (NOK/kg) and a maximum support percentage of 70%. Fleet renewal will, therefore, continue as a type of intervention, where commitments will require a well-documented phase-out case with NOx reduction.
