December Board Meeting
The NOx Fund approved support for 36 projects in December, with a total of NOK 527 million in new commitments, expected to result in a NOx reduction of 1,660 tonnes.
Six applications were denied support, and three projects have had their evaluations postponed.
Distribution of investment support by sector:
- Oil and Gas: 4 projects with a reduction of 752 tonnes of NOx, receiving NOK 208 million in support.
- Shipping: 17 projects resulting in a reduction of 520 tonnes of NOx, with NOK 149 million in support.
- Fishing: 14 projects leading to a reduction of 383 tonnes of NOx, supported with NOK 167 million.
- Industry: 1 project leading to a reduction of 6 tonnes of NOx, with NOK 3 million in support.
Distribution of investment support by type of measure:
- Projects involving SCR (including engine replacements and other retrofitting): 31 projects reduces NOx by 1,638 tonnes, with NOK 492 million in support.
- Pure energy efficiency measures: 3 projects reduces NOx by 15 tonnes, supported by 9 million NOK.
- Industrial optimisation: 1 project reduces NOx by 6 tonnes, supported by NOK 3 million.
- Shore power: 1 project reduces NOx by 2 tonnes, supported by 1 million NOK.
Total commitments for 2024:
From January to December 2024, the NOx Fund received 102 applications, of which 79 were approved for support. These approvals amounts to more than 1.8 billion NOK in commitments. The projects are estimated to deliver an annual NOx reduction of approximately 4,000 tonnes and a CO2 reduction of about 58,000 tonnes.
